Elgood's Cambridge Bitter [H]
guest beer [H]
Built in the 1800s, the last of the five pubs in the village. There is a comfortable lounge with bar billiards and a small restaurant. Outside, there is a covered smoking area with tables and chairs and a bowls green behind. Fish and Chips on Friday and Sunday lunches only. Children and good dogs welcome. Refurbished early 2012. There is an open coal fire to the left and the ceiling and the walls are festooned with a scythe and a siding spade for the dykes. There is also a rake suspended from the ceiling, presumably a relic from Elgood's brewery used to separate the yeast bed in the traditional open squares.
