Essentially intact since built in 1938, this back street community local is one of the Real Heritage Pubs of Britain. A "drinking" corridor connects the public bar with its Art Deco fittings and the rear room served by a hatch. The public bar features a war memorial and real fire. Crib, darts and dominoes played. Cheese club meets last Thursday of the month. At least five real ales which always includes one, often two house beers from Brewsters. The guest beers currently include a dark beer (mild, stout, porter or old ale) and this is likely to continue. Traditional cider is occasionally available between April to October. Beer festivals with live music are held in the large restored garden around St George's Day in April and at the end of September. Won a CAMRA Gold Award in July 2010, was Cambridgeshire CAMRA Pub of the Year 2010 and in 2013 they received a 10 years in GBG award. Local CAMRA Branch Pub of the Year 2015. This pub is currently up for sale by Enterprise. There is currently an attempt by locals to raise £300,000 to buy it. (May 2016)
